Become a Mentor

Are you willing to befriend a child and serve as a positive adult role model? Mentor Duluth is an award-winning program that matches youth, ages 5 to 18, with caring adults in the community. Please visit the Mentor Duluth web site and learn more, or call 218-722-4745.

Deon, age 12, is sporty and friendly. He loves football and would like to attend a football game or just spend time playing catch. He also enjoys basketball, weight lifting, fishing, swimming and ice skating/rollerblading, as well as playing board games, watching action movies and volunteering in the community. If Deon had three wishes they would be 1) Be in Marine Corps or own his own business 2) Live in a mansion 3) Have a kid so he could see how much responsibility it takes!

Deon lives in a house with a lot of kids, and so really wants a mentor to be a special friend to him. He needs a mentor who can be a stable, positive male role model in his life, and who will encourage him in school. He’d like his mentor to respect him, and to take him to new places in Duluth.

The Volunteer Center is dedicated to "building a vibrant community by connecting people with meaningful opportunities to serve." This is accomplished by providing volunteer resource and referral, coordinating special events, providing networking opportunities and professional development for volunteer managers and advocating for volunteerism on the local, state and national level.
